Queen Mary University of London, Malta Campus is pleased to be hosting the High Commission of India for Malta for their first Indian Film Festival. which will take place at our Campus in Gozo, Malta between 11 and 14 April, 2024.  

From Academy Nominee Rocketry – The Nambi Effect, Oscar award-winning RRR (Rise, Roar, Revolt) and the endearing Gandhi & Company, we look forward to welcoming you to four days of Indian film culture, edge-of-your-seat action and laughter. All movies are screened in their original languages (Hindi, Malayalam, Gujarati and Bengali) with English Subtitles.

Best Feature Film at 69th National Film Awards (2021)

Rocketry: The Nambi Effect is a 2022 Indian biographical drama film written, produced and directed by R. Madhavan in his directorial debut. The film is based on the life of Nambi Narayanan,  a scientist at the Indian Space Research Organisation, who was accused in the  ISRO espionage case and later exonerated. The story spans across Narayanan’s days as a graduate student at Princeton University, before exploring his work as a scientist and the false espionage charges placed upon him.

Rocketry premiered at the 2022 Cannes Film Festival on May 19 and released worldwide on July 1, 2022. The film garnered recognition with several awards and honors, including being an official contender in the Best Film category at the 95th Academy Awards.

Oliver Twist’s (Indrans), family consists of his wife Kuttiyamma (Manju Pillai), his aging father (Kainakari Thankaraj), and sons Antony (Sreenath Bhasi) and Charles (Naslen K Gafoor). Antony, who is a one-film-old director, is struggling to finish his second script. He prefers staying in the city but returns home only to get rid of his creative block. Charles, on the other hand, is a vlogger. The movie focuses on technology-challenged Oliver’s struggles to keep up with his tech-savvy sons.
